Northern Marine are currently seeking a Senior DPO for a short term contract with one of our Offshore clients.
Purpose of Role
The Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator (SDPO) acts as a Senior Watch Keeping Officer and takes charge of both the Navigational and DP Watch.
The SDPO assists the Chief Officer in the safe and efficient management of the Marine Deck Department.
Operational Roles and Responsibilities
The SDPO has the following prime operational responsibilities:

Compliance with Master’s Standing and Daily Orders.

Compliance with the Company Integrated Management System including reporting as necessary.

Has the authority and responsibility to take appropriate actions to ensure the safety of life, property and preservation of the environment without the presence of the Master.

Watch Keeper responsible for safe navigation of the Vessel when on conventionalwatches.

Senior DP Operator when operating in DP ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

Operation of the Vessel and all equipmentin accordance with Company procedures, safe limits and any contract specificterms.

Assisting Chief Officer in planning and organisation of the day to day Deck Crew activities including additional contract related services such as Helideck/ FRCcrew.

Responsible for operational stability and ballasting. Assists Chief Officer in preparation of stabilitycalculations.

Responsible Person, Permit Coordinator and Isolating Authority under Permit to Worksystem.

Assists with control and disposal of waste in accordance with the Vessel ManagementPlan.

Completion and recording of maintenance carried out in accordance with the Planned Maintenance System as directed by the Chief Officer.

In Port, supervision of watch keeping arrangements and provision of safe means of access.

Assists Chief Officer in the management and control of COSHH database
